10 YEAR-OLD GETS DAY OF RECOGNITION FOR CINNAMON ROLLS

Sam Tollison is probably still coming down from the sugar high he experienced Sunday. Along with his fellow residents of the Centennial State, the 10-year-old was chowing down his favorite treat on Colorado Cinnamon Roll Day. But he and his family got VIP treatment, because it was Sam's passionate obsession with cinnamon rolls that persuaded Gov. Jon Kickenlooper to declare Jan. 8 a statewide day of appreciation for the pastry.

Described by The Coloradoan as “shy,” the elementary school student spent December collecting signatures for a petition to designate the food holiday.

And why do cinnamon rolls deserve their own day?

“They have frosting and they’re sweet and yummy,” Sam told The Coloradoan. Well, the kid doesn’t wax poetic, but at least he's not afraid of commitment.

Not only was he successful in his quest, but this tenacious tyke got hooked up with a free breakfast, along with lifetime of free cinnamon rolls from a local restaurant.

We can’t help but admire Sam’s dedication to cinnamon rolls, and we want to know: What is the object of your food devotion?
